LiveLoveDance Performing Groups

If you’re looking for more than just recreational dance classes we offer performance opportunities for every age group from 6–18 year old. From our Mini Stars to programs designed with your busy high schooler in mind to those wanting pursue a career in dance.

Mini & Junior  Stars

We are proud to offer performance groups for dancers ages 6 to 11. The goal of these groups is to provide dancers who want more performance opportunities 5–6 extra community events each year.  There is no need to audition for Mini or Junior Stars. New students are accepted April through June of each year for the following dance year.  Dancers are placed into Mini or Junior Stars based on age and experience level.

Performances may include:

  • Broomfield Days Performance and optional parade participation (September)
  • Sunrise Senior Living Center Performance (December)
  • Holiday Showcase (December)
  • Gift of Dance (May)
  • Boulder Creek Festival (Memorial Day Weekend)
  • Summer Recital (June)

Class requirements

  • Mini Stars: one group rehearsal class in addition to at least one other dance class.
  • Junior Stars: take one group rehearsal class in addition to one Ballet class and one other choice dance class.

Live Love Dance Pre-Company Dance Performance Group

Pre-Company Dance Program

We started pre-company because we had so many dancers interested in Company but they weren’t taking the needed classes to help them succeed in Company. As a dancer in the Pre-Company program, each December and June you will receive a detailed report of how you are doing in your classes as well as what you need to work on to reach your goal of becoming a Company dancer.

Pathways through Dance

We have options for your dancer as they grow and mature. For those who want to keep dancing but need a more flexible company experience, we offer the “Busy High Schooler” option. And we suggest the Pre-Professional option for those planning to major or minor in dance or who want to dance professionally.

The Busy High Schooler Dance Program

The Busy High Schooler

We know juggling life, extra circulars, other sports, and homework these days can be overwhelming, to say the least. That’s why we designed this track of classes for the high school dancer who is interested in continuing in the LLD Dance Company but who is also seriously involved in another high school sport or activities. 

Open to dancers in high school only who have successfully committed to LLD Company for at least 2 full years. Dancers participating in this option must be dancing at LLD a minimum of 5 hours per week. Dancers may not be invited to specific Company performances if they are not in the All Company class.

Live Love Dance Pre-Professional Dance Program

Pre-Professional Dance

Designed for the high school student who is planning to major or minor in dance, dance professionally, and who wants to devote more time to dance studies. Each dancer will receive a community dance mentor working in their field of study. They will meet with their dance mentor and the director separately each quarter to discuss their goals.

Pre-Company FAQs

 

Why did you start Pre-Company?

We started pre-company because we have so many dancers interested in Company but they are not taking the appropriate classes to help them reach their goal, or they are not meeting the standards or work level of a Company dancer.

 

What benefits are there of being Pre-Company?

All teachers will be made aware of your goals to join the Performing Company and you will be challenged at the level the Company Dancers are within your own classes but in a way that is still appropriate for your age and ability level.

 

Does being in Pre-Company guarantee I will be in Company next year?

Not necessarily —many factors that go into determining Company placement. There may not be a group at your age or ability level next year or it may take several years of being in “Pre-Company” to meet your goal.

 

What’s the difference between Pre-Company and Mini and Junior Stars?

As a dancer, each December and June you will receive a detailed report of how you are doing in your classes as well as what you need to work on to meet your goal of becoming a Company dancer.  

 

What if I am not recommended to take the required classes yet?

What if I fail to meet one of the above requirements for Junior Stars or Pre-Company during the year?

Unless you have an emergency situation you will be removed from “Pre-Company” status and will not receive the benefits listed above.

 

How do I join Pre-Company?

Simply fill out the section for Pre-Company on your Mini and Junior Stars form and email it back to the studio at info@livelovedance.net
