Bloom Preschool Misson Statement
At Bloom Fine Arts Preschool, we believe children blossom best when participating in the arts. Through dance, music, art, and theater, our students develop creativity while learning academics that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. At Bloom, your child will be welcomed into a positive and nurturing environment with dedicated teachers. We passionately embrace our responsibility to guide your children to bloom into capable, confident, creative, and caring human beings.
Bloom Preschool Goals
Our goal is to create enriching experiences for each child in a safe, supportive and respectful environment. At Bloom, we create developmentally appropriate activities daily through the Arts to promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. We believe that each child will learn and develop in their way.
Opportunities are created for each child to observe, learn, explore and discover; promoting their development. We are committed to ensuring each child has a positive experience here at Bloom Fine Arts Preschool.
Drop-off, Sign-in Procedure & Pick-Up
School drop-off is from 9:00–9:05 am each morning. If someone different will be picking up your student, please notify us at drop-off. We may require the person picking up your child to show identification if our staff is unfamiliar with them. All students must be picked up by 12:05 pm.
Snacks & Belongings
Please send a nutritious nut-free snack each day with your child. On occasions, we will be using a food item as a part of our lesson, including taste testing! If we provide any other food that day, it will be noted on the front door at dropoff.
Please notify a staff member before leaving if you do not want your child to have the snack item. All snack items will be served with food-safe gloves. All personal items coming into the building should be kept at a minimum. Please send your student with a small backpack, snack, and closed water bottle.
Birthdays & Holidays
We love celebrating birthdays, and we want it to be unique for your child. We do allow parents to bring in special treats for the class! If you plan to bring a special birthday treat, let us know what it is, and we will include it on the daily calendar. We will also have holiday parties throughout the year.
Throughout our school year, photographs of the children will be taken in our classroom during their activities. These photos may be used for marketing if you have signed our photo release. We will be using the app ClassDojo to communicate and also to send photos of your student and how much fun and learning they are experiencing!
We may provide a monthly or quarterly newsletter to communicate essential information, topics, or upcoming events to provide as much information as possible to keep you informed about what goes on in our class! Please keep in mind that a lot of information will be sent on the Class Dojo App. On occasion, we may ask you to bring some personal items from home to help with our lessons. We do this to engage the students and families more in the lessons.
Don’t worry; we have been there! If your little one is not fully potty trained, that does not mean that they cannot participate! Please speak with the teacher ahead of time to let them know how to help your little one best. Please send a change of clothes and have your dancer in a pull-up if not fully potty trained. If they have an accident, that allows them to clean up and change their clothes themselves. We will help them as needed. If they have an accident and cannot change themselves, we will call you to come and change your child.
We will have several performances throughout the school year, as well as a graduation ceremony! Those tentative dates will be given out in August.
If we need to close for inclement weather, we will first notify you via the Class Dojo App. We will also post on our Facebook page and website. As a general rule, we will follow the decisions of Adams 12 and BVSD regarding weather-related closures.
Due to the nature of our program, we are not able to offer make-ups for missed classes or weather closures. We can offer a make-up class for the movement portion of your class in one of our dance classes. Notify the office to schedule a make-up class.
There is a non-refundable $50 registration and materials fee due at the time of registration.
Payments are due on the 1st of the month and are considered late after the 10th of the month. A $15 late fee is added to accounts after the 10th of the month. We highly suggest signing up for our monthly auto-pay plan. Bloom preschool is a season-long commitment. Your first payment will be due on August 1st.
Classes run from August 16, 2021, to May 19, 2022. Each fee covers four weeks (a nine-month school year) therefore, there is no payment due for May!
If your student or anyone in your family has experienced any symptoms of illness within the last 72 hours, we ask that you not come to class. If a class must be canceled due to teacher illness, your account will be credited for the missed class. If your child shows any symptoms of illness after you drop them off, they will be placed in a room away from other students, and you will be called to come and pick up your child.
In the unlikely event that Bloom is required by the government to be shut down for over one week, we will switch to a shortened online or at-home learning platform. This will include only one day of activities each week. All needed items will be delivered to your house and the teacher will host a shortened virtual class each week to teach some of the lessons that are more appropriate for a virtual setting. You will be charged for one day/week during this time.
COVID-19 Safety Enhancements
All Bloom staff have been fully vaccinated! We have recently installed a medical-grade air purification system that has been proven to neutralize COVID-19 within 3 feet. In addition, all commonly touched surfaces are sanitized between classes. All Bloom students will have their table and individual supplies in addition to our “dance boxes” for each student in our dance room. Our goal is to build community and social skills in our young bloomers
